Room air test - 2

The night went without any incident - no desat or false alarm. Emilia woke up at 7:30am and I took the monitor off for them to pick up in the morning. I don't know what their target range for the oxygenation is... Emilia's O2 sometimes hovers around 92-94% and this might be considered too low.

We will hear from Sick Kids about the result... perhaps they will let us know at our next appointment.

Room air test

For a month or so, we have been putting Emilia on oxygen only for the night sleeping time. I contacted Sick Kids to let them know (as they asked me to) and today they sent an oximeter to do an overnight room air oximetry test. So, since 7pm, Emilia has been on two monitors: one for the test and one for the regular alarm monitoring as the test oximeter does not beep. So far, she's been around 94-99% sPO2, with 1-2 seconds of 88 and 89 when she was first falling asleep.

I am hoping that at our next appointment, they will tell us that Emilia can be completely off oxygen. Until then, we are still advised to supply her with oxygen overnight and continue the pulse oximetry monitoring. Today is the first time Emilia is being off oxygen for a complete 24 hour period (albeit for a test).... I will post later on about how she does it tonight.
