Emilia was born on May 31, 2011, at 25 weeks and 5 days in gestational age. She came home on October 21, 2011 after spending 143 days in the hospital. Today she's a thriving, happy baby who continues to amaze us every single day. This blog records the journey of our miracle baby.

Finally something has emerged....
Emilia and her second tooth!
First I could see a raised bump and a darker line on her lower gum and today when I rub my finger pad on it, I can feel something sharp. But it is too small to be seen with eyes, I think. So far this is the only one that is emerging. I guess the upper ones will be cutting at a later stage.
By the way, she's already lost her first tooth (lower incisor) so until she gets permanent teeth, she will be missing a tooth in that spot. :-(

How did she lose her first tooth?
ReplyDeleteShe had a milk tooth after she was born but before she reached term. The natal tooth does not have a proper root and it kind of falls off on its own, though in our case, NICU called in a dentist to take it out.
