Emilia finally rolled over!

Past few days, Emilia rolled over really well from the side-lying position, but she could never get to the side-lying position AND then roll over by herself. At last, today, while playing she suddenly decided to get to the side-lying position and then roll over. After one failed attempt, she tried again (completely by her own will) and then finally made it. What an accomplishment!! My eyes were welling up with tears of joy! I am so proud of her... she truly amazes me every single day.

She has not yet rolled from tummy to back yet.. so I am a bit surprised that she wants to roll from back to tummy first. I thought from back to tummy was harder than the other way.

Found a funny photo from this past Christmas

Marru, caught red-handed!!!
Marru is Emilia's cousin and is about 7 months older than Emilia... I don't think he quite understand who Emilia is yet.

(and on the left is his mom jumping in to stop him, haha)

Teething?

I don't know if she is teething or not, but she's been actually chewing and touching her gum with her fingers a lot recently. I felt her gum but there was no bump.... maybe she is starting to feel something already?

Pictures from this week

Hearing Test

We went to Ajax yesterday to have Emilia's follow up hearing test. Because she was born with an extremely low birth weight, she got a "refer" result from the infant hearing screening even though she passed it.

She needed to be asleep DURING the hearing test and the audiologist office told us not to let her sleep for 2-3 hours prior to the appointment. Well Emilia's eye lids started to droop immediately after we left home. As my husband was driving, I was in the backseat trying to entertain her and keep her awake. I brought some noisy toys along and managed to keep her mostly awake during the trip but as soon as we arrived at the audiologist office parking lot, she started to slumber. Thankfully she slept through the test (and woke up crying just as the test was wrapping up) and got another *PASS* result. She still needs one more follow up in several months. I knew she had no problem hearing because she pays me a lot of attention when I sing her songs and she also stops crying momentarily when I clap my hands loudly.

Any way, I feel very lucky that she slept during the test given that she has napping/sleeping problems these days. I packed her blankie and baby sling too but didn't need to use them!
